- Second generation for compact MPV
- Cabin is shared with new generation A-Class
- Will be launched at the 2018 Paris Motor Show next week
Mercedes-Benz has released a teaser video for the next generation B-Class compact MPV ahead of its debut at the 2018 Paris Motor Show next week. It’s second generation for this vehicle and in keeping with the family look, it shares much of its cabin with the A-Class hatchback.
In the photos or in this case a teaser video, you can see the dual digital displays on the dashboard, illuminated AC vents and three-spoke steering wheel. However, what Mercedes has mainly aimed to demonstrate with the video is that the rear seats can fold down and the passenger seat can slide forward completely. The added space available after that means you can fit a canoe or by our estimates a whole load of boxes.
The B-Class will be mechanically the same as the other MFA2 platform cars. It will be offered with a range of petrol and diesel engines. Sources suggest that this will be the most practical car in the Mercedes FWD range as the automaker has now closed the door on the CLA shooting brake.
Is it India-bound? Possibly but it will continue as a CBU due to the relatively low demand (as compared to the other Mercedes models) that the B-Class has always had.
